Create a management company and link it to a managed company

If you manage the buildings of other companies or landlords, you will be able then to carry out most of the managed companies transactions using the management company's interface.
  1. Add a new management company
    1. Go in the top menu, Data, Company.
    2. Click on Add.
    3. Identify the company by a significant name
    4. Specify its financial period


    5. NOTE: You will be able to thereafter modify the end date of this financial period.
    6. Indicate the province in which it is registered or incorporated
    7. Select the opening chart of accounts


    8. If you already created other companies and their chart has been modified, you will be able to use one of their opening charts.
    9. Check the box Tax-Registered Company because only a tax-registered company can act as a management company
    10. Record and close

  2. Link managed companies or private individuals to the management company
    1. Go in the top menu, Data, Management Company
    2. Select the management company in the Identification drop-down menu.

      Note Only tax-registered companies can be selected as management company
    3. Check the buildings in the bottom box which are managed by this company
    4. Record and close
  3. Specify the management accounts and special accounts

  4. Once the management company has been linked to the managed companies, a new tab appears in its record. It is then time to specify the accounts.
    1. Go in the left menu, Data, Company
    2. Select the management company in the drop-down menu
    3. Go in the tab Management Accounts
    4. Link a Customer to pay account (e.g. : 2101 - Customer to pay)

      NOTE: You will have to enter it manually because this account is not included in the list
    5. Link an Income Management Fees account (e.g. : 4220 - Other income or create a specific income account to enter this type of income. For more details, please refer to the procedure linked at the bottom of the page.)


    6. ATTENTION! Pay attention to the selection of these accounts because once a transaction will have been made in one of them, it will be then impossible to modify the selected account.
    7. Go in the tab Special Accounts
    8. Link an account receivable (e.g. : 1201 - Account receivable)
    9. Record modifications
  5. Complete the other information on the data record
  6. Switch tab one by one to add relevant information.

    Note The more information you enter, the more easy it will be thereafter to access them and to carry out an effective management.
